France welcomes Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, who will be in France on an official visit from April 29-30.

On Monday, April 29, President Tshisekedi will be welcomed by Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, Minister of State for Development and International Partnerships, at a ceremony with military honors at the Hôtel National des Invalides. He will then attend a meeting at the National Football Center in Clairefontaine-en-Yvelines where sports cooperation between our two countries will be addressed, especially regarding the possibility of France supporting a national sports institute in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the afternoon, he will meet with Senate President Gérard Larcher and National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet.

On Tuesday, April 30, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo will visit the École Militaire alongside Sébastien Lecornu, Minister for the Armed Forces, before being welcomed by the President of France at the Élysée Palace. The two heads of state will talk about strengthening our bilateral partnership, one year after the French President’s official visit to Kinshasa. They will discuss topics relating to the region, in particular the crisis in the eastern DRC. After this meeting concludes, President Tshisekedi will chair a roundtable with French businesses, to be held at the Ministry of the Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty with Minister of State Zacharopoulou in attendance, in order to talk about the business and trade relations between our two countries, as well as the measures taken to encourage French investment in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
