Finland and Estonia – Incidents on the Balticconnector gas pipeline and a submarine/undersea cable (13 October 2023)

On October 10, Finland announced that it had detected gas leaks on the Balticconnector gas pipeline as well as an incident concerning an undersea telecommunications cable connecting Finland and Estonia.

France reaffirms its absolute solidarity with its Finnish and Estonian allies and partners. It is very closely monitoring the investigation that is under way.

We are working closely with our EU and NATO partners to secure and step up protection of critical undersea infrastructure.
