France expresses its concern following recent Supreme Court decisions upholding the ineligibility of several political figures.

France calls for the respect and full implementation of the Barbados Agreement on the Promotion of Political Rights and Electoral Guarantees signed on October 17, 2023, by the government and the Unitary Platform to ensure that the presidential elections scheduled for the second half of 2024 will be free and transparent. This agreement represents a major step toward ending the crisis, as President Macron said to President Nicolas Maduro on November 29.

France reiterates its willingness to work with the EU to create an international election observation mission, in accordance with the Barbados Agreement.
