Q: Clément Beaune, the French Minister of State, regretted that Greece is allowing passengers on its territory who were vaccinated with Russian and Greek [sic] vaccines. According to him, the EU countries shouldn’t recognize vaccines produced in Russia and China. Can you comment on these statements and on the response by the Russian Foreign Minister, who condemned them as discriminatory?

A: The current European framework is based on the recognition of vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency. There are four, at the moment. It is a scientific question relating to health. The remarks you are referring to are unacceptable and merit no further comment.
