“Ambassadors Week” – Launch of a social media campaign (July 10, 2015)

Laurent Fabius would like to refresh the traditional annual Ambassadors Conference, particularly by developing exchanges between the ambassadors, the public and businesses.

In preparation for this event, now called “Ambassadors Week,” to be held in Paris from August 24 to 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development is launching an original publicity campaign on the social networks. The Quai d’Orsay has adopted a decidedly quirky, humorous tone with the aim of attracting a young audience that is not very familiar with foreign affairs. The visuals will be found all summer long on the Ministry’s Twitter (#SemaineAmbass) and Facebook accounts.

In the same spirit of openness, the week will begin with an innovative public diplomacy event called “I am meeting an ambassador,” during which the public may come to listen to and freely debate with French ambassadors on current events, in person or via Twitter.

Tuesday, August 25, will be devoted to supporting our businesses abroad, with the first “speed-dating” event between ambassadors and entrepreneurs ever held in France.
