Terrorist attacks in Israel – French nationals (9 October 2023)

Since the terrorist attacks against Israel began on Saturday, our diplomatic crisis-mechanisms in Paris, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem have been in contact with several dozen compatriots attempting, among other things, to locate their loved ones – French people resident in or passing through Israel. Several French people have since been rescued by the Israeli security forces and are safe.

At present, we are mourning the deaths of two compatriots and have no news about 14 others whose situation is considered very worrying. This number is still likely to change.

The information we have suggests to us that it is very likely some of them have been kidnapped, including one 12-year-old child.

We are in constant contact with the families of each of the victims, to support them in the terrible ordeal they are going through.
