France Volontaires, a Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs contractor, is holding French Volunteer Days today, October 12. This event, which began with a speech from the French president over video, is being chaired by Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, Minister of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. This event is an opportunity to present France Volontaires’ new visual identity and its new digital international volunteering, exchange and solidarity platform.

France’s 2021 law on solidarity in development gave volunteering a new boost by recognizing that volunteering is one of the key interdisciplinary components of France’s solidarity efforts. Volunteers take part in missions based on the Sustainable Development Goals on access to health, water, quality education, gender equality and the fight for reduced inequality. This law also strengthens our partnerships and reciprocity, thereby allowing more volunteers from Africa, the Americas and Asia to carry out missions in France.
