Angola – New criminal legislation (12 February 2021)

France welcomes the entry into force of a new criminal code in Angola, which decriminalizes homosexual relations and prohibits any discrimination based on sexual orientation.

France reaffirms that it is making active efforts to promote and defend the rights of LGBTI people in the world and combat every form of discrimination of which they are victims. It will continue to act with a view to the universal decriminalization of homosexuality.
