Armenia - M. Jean-Noël Barrot’s conversation with his Armenian counterpart, Mr Ararat Mirzoyan (15 April 2025)

Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, spoke on the telephone today, Tuesday 15 April 2025, to Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

In addition to discussing the next meetings on the bilateral agenda, the conversation provided an opportunity for the two ministers to speak about the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the security situation in the region. The [French] Minister reaffirmed the importance of signing and ratifying the peace treaty as soon as possible, which should enable the South Caucasus to become an area of peace, integration and cooperation, with open borders, to the benefit of the region’s population.

The Minister reiterated the support France will continue to lend to Armenia’s resilience and sovereignty.
