Iran – France condemns the execution of a demonstrator (7 August 2024)

France condemns in the strongest terms today’s execution of Gholamreza Rasaei, sentenced to death after his participation in the autumn 2022 demonstrations that followed the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran.

France reiterates its steadfast opposition to the death penalty, everywhere and under all circumstances, and its commitment to the worldwide abolition of this unjust and inhuman punishment.
