Moldova – Conversation between Jean-Yves Le Drian and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu (25 Feb. 2022)

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian spoke today with Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu in order to express France’s and the European Union’s complete solidarity with Moldova in the face of the consequences of the war in Ukraine. Russia’s large-scale military invasion of Ukraine constitutes a threat to the entire region’s stability.

In the context of the influx of migrants resulting from this conflict, France supports Moldova’s request for assistance from the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. France stands with Moldova and will provide the country with bilateral assistance.
