Situation of Maati Monjib - Q&A from the press briefing (19 March 2021)

Q : Given the urgency of the situation and the gross violations of the fundamental rights of journalist and historian Maati Monjib, will France denounce the unjust situation being endured by its citizen and mobilize its efforts to ensure his release and ensure that he is treated before it’s too late?

A : As we have already had an opportunity to indicate, we have been paying close attention to the situation of our compatriot, Maati Monjib, since his incarceration ordered during court proceedings in Morocco. Our diplomatic mission in Rabat is in contact with his family and we stand ready, if Mr. Monjib so wishes, to provide him with consular protection.
