Q- What is your reaction to the events taking place in Senegal (the arrest of opponent Ousmane Sonko, the dissolution of his party, and two deaths)?

A- France is following the situation in Senegal closely. We call for restraint and an end to the violence. As we have already stated several times, France is committed to seeing Senegal’s democratic advances and the principal of the rule of law respected. We make this commitment clear to all of Senegal’s political class.
