Clément Beaune, Minister of State for European Affairs, will be in Bratislava on June 16.

There he will take part in the GLOBSEC 2021 international forum organized by the GLOBSEC think tank and the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and will speak at the round table on “Toward a European Union that delivers on its promises.” Jean-Yves Le Drian had spoken on October 8, 2020, at this same Forum to underscore the ambitions Europe must have to defend its humanist model and the need for it to reaffirm its principles and values with respect to other powers and to bolster its sovereignty.

Clément Beaune will present France’s vision on the concrete initiatives that the EU should take to ensure tangible results for European citizens, particularly in the area of strategic autonomy. He will also raise the topic of the French Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2022.

The Minister of State will meet with his Slovak counterpart, Martin Klus. In keeping with our dynamic bilateral relationship and close cooperation within the EU, their discussions will focus on such European priorities as the recovery plan, the climate, the European digital agenda, and asylum and migration.

He will also meet with Cosmin Boiangiu, executive director of the European Labour Authority, to discuss certain European social issues.
